...and then we skied off into the sunset. And also every part of my body freaked out because it no longer receives as much oxygen as it has come to expect, nor does it have the capacity to turn that oxygen into energy. Went to Montana. Packed and shipped a bunch of boxes and bags. Walked among mountains (not the same as hiking or trail running, still beats the hell out of not moving). Saw a funny library sign. Then hopped on a flight and watched the sun rise over the Rocky Mountains poking out of the clouds. Here's something sweet: I get to coach a bunch of up and coming Nordies this year! While my own racing is in a holding pattern, I've focused a lot of energy on coaching. It's my favorite way to stay close to the endurance sports I love while my body heals. @fordsayre_nordic is a local program for junior athletes, and my friend and teammate @bigsassyhil is the head coach.
